Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all our friends and family.

While Wayne keeps so many of our friends updated by phone and by text, I stay as far away from communication as possible.  If you can catch me while I’m at work, I’ll chat on messenger. Other than that, I don’t answer the phone, I respond to email slowly and my letter writing is sorely lacking in frequency.  My new years goal is to be much better at communication and so here I am starting a blog – as if anything interesting happens to me!  Ha.  Be prepared to be a little unimpressed.  Take for example our Christmas:

We did visit four different friends homes on Christmas eve, two of which were crowded with people.  We visited for most of the day and were back home early in the evening.  We slept in on Christmas Morning.  We spent the day nibbling on good food, napping, and watching movies.  Other than a long walk with the dog, Bailey, we did not even leave the house.  I did get a very nice Christmas present from Wayne.  Image

Why a Satellite Phone?

Well, because I’m going to climb mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa in the middle of January.  And, he declined to come with me.  And now I do not have an excuse not to call him every day!

The climb is the real reason I started this blog.  I am not going to go into the details in this post, but promise to fill in all the information in the next few entries.

For now, I hope you had a peaceful Christmas.
