Just a quick update on our progress. We motored from Louisiana to Mississippi and hit the high point of the state.  Most of the posts I  previously read when researching this peak mentioned that this was a hard peak to find, but not anymore.  It is well marked and there is a newish looking bench, marker and registry book.  Thanks to the high pointers foundation as it looks like they are responsible for keeping the place nice.   The hill is surrounded by lush woods.  We could have hiked up from the road, but we drove up the bumpy muddy one lane track. 

I haven’t posted about last nights rainy fiasco! As a preview I’ll just say we did not camp.  More on that when I have time to catch up.
