Today’s hike was a bright sunny trek on the AT in the Garden State’s High Point Park. We started near the visitors center and after an elevation gain of 891 ft in 2 miles we reached the monument on the peak.
After climbing the 291 steps to the top of the monument we did a quick descent and got on the road…and hit traffic. Welcome back to civilization.
We traversed Connecticut reach Rhode Island and braved the elements to trek to Jerimoth Hill. After the 500 yard scramble over pine needles we achieved our goal of HP #3. Seriously, this is just off the highway.
We are currently enjoying the hospitality of the Publik House in Sturbridge MA, enjoying a beer and some blueberry pie. Until tomorrow.
