Long story short: Today started with a very enjoyable ferry crossing of Lake Champlain. Then we cruised into Stowe to hike Mt Mansfield. But it was cold and rainy. We wimped out and decided not to hike, but to drive up instead. But the men at the toll road were strongly discouraging people to drive up, as the winds were 40mph. So we looked at the schedule and struggled with ideas. We ended up driving to Mt Washington and taking the Cog Railway up-into weather that was 36 degrees f and 70 mph winds!!!! We could barely stand straight.
This is all you could see in the clouds. Let’s hope tomorrow is better.
